Where to start
With so many pieces, it can be hard to choose. When we shared a few new works on Facebook last week, many of you said you couldn't pick just one. We understand. These collections are a good place to begin:
- Farm scenes: open land, old farmhouses and the quiet of the platteland. They remind us of where we come from.
- Children: innocence, play and small hands. They belong in a nursery or a grandmother's home.
- Inspirational: women in prayer and moments of stillness. They're for a space where you want to feel close to God.
- Seascapes: light on water, for those of us who grew up near the sea.
- Figurative & portrait: mothers, daughters and the bonds between them.
A few tips for choosing
Start with the wall, not the painting. Measure the space first. A canvas usually looks best when it fills about two-thirds of the wall above a couch or bed.
Think about who will see it every day. The best art for a home often isn't the showiest piece. It's the one that says something about the people who live there.
Plan ahead for gifts. Birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas are coming. A print or a set of cards bought now is one less thing to worry about later.
